Retail

i m +2 & i want to make my career in retail industry so plz tell me what kind of scope in this industry & from where i can do retail courses whether it's govt. or private intitute to grow up fast.

If you were to do a retail course after class 12th you may not get to climb to the heights of the profession. If you have no problems with higher studies, it would be advisable to complete your graduation and then take up either a one year or 18 months PG Diploma in Retail Management or MBA Retail from established institutions for enduring prospects in retail. The sector offers good potential.(20.03.2009)

I have done my graduation in commerce and just finish my second graduation in law, now i m finding this is not my way to go, i want to make my career in advertising ,brand-management and event management; but i m a quite creative person and have attraction for art, would u please tell me any one/two year courses conducted in Delhi which can help me to find out my way, i like to work in office but i cant do field and marketing jobs, i m not too old to do the course i can pursue the courses my age is just less than 23 years. please suggest me the courses for which still admission are open?.... (Sudeep)

Most of the work in these fields is related to client servicing and marketing and you would have to move around quite a bit. You could actually work as a lawyer in the fields of your interest with a well defined role. Or you could use your creativity in looking for work available in the advertising industry (in copy writing, too), in brand management and event marketing. An attraction for art is not the same thing as possessing the necessary talent. However, you can check with the local art college and polytechnics about art courses to assess your talent. Sometimes, what is out of reach appears attractive only because it is unattainable, so I hope you are not falling into that trap.
